The Walmart Restored program is designed to help enrolled sellers offer high-quality refurbished items on
Walmart.com. However, participation in the Walmart Restored program is by invitation only and not available to all Marketplace sellers. If you sell refurbished products and are interested in applying to the Walmart Restored program, reach out to your account manager for more information.
The Walmart Restored program's eligibility is determined by your ability to offer refurbished items that meet Walmart’s product quality requirements. Additionally, you must have better-than-average seller ratings on Walmart.com and be in good standing with
Seller Performance Standards.
Walmart evaluates five key metrics over the last 30 days:
- Cancellation Rate
- On‑Time Delivery Rate (OTD)
- Valid Tracking Rate (VTR)
- Refund Rate
- Seller Response Rate
Consistent under‑performance may result in suppression or suspension, and hurt eligibility for invite‑only programs.
Note: Walmart explicitly calls out that sellers must maintain a VTR of 99% or greater.
Walmart provides detailed, category‑specific condition definitions.
These are fully functional items that are just used. You’ll rate them based on how they look like “Like New,” “Good,” or “Fair.”
These are professionally refurbished with
stricter QA. They must go through quality checks and can be labeled as “Premium,” “Like New,” “Good,” or “Fair.” Some may need to include a warranty or have easier return options.
Eligible categories include many types of products (e.g., electronics, media, instruments, toys, home, books, trading cards, comics), with specific grading rules per category. If a product type you sell isn’t shown as eligible, Walmart instructs sellers to email
- Restored@walmart.com for restored items or
- Pre‑Owned@walmart.com to request a review for used items.
However, Walmart will make the final call.
Price your products based on:
- How they compare to brand-new items
- The condition grade you gave them
Buyers can see the item’s condition badge, so your pricing should make sense. A “Fair” item should cost less than a “Like New” one.
When you price fairly and grade honestly, you’ll get fewer returns and more repeat customers.
